Johnson Tidsall, a seven partner firm of chartered accountants in Derby, has gone live with the Star Practice Dashboard – a powerful web-based business intelligence system that places a wealth of information about clients and practice performance at partners’ and managers’ fingertips.
Retrieving data from the firm’s Star Practice Management system, Star Practice Dashboard combines a broad range of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and associated information into a suite of easy to customise screen views covering areas such as WIP, debtors, billing, cash collection,staff performance and so on, and measures these against practice targets and budgets.
Johnson Tidsall partner, David Mellor and his colleagues can now access key financial data, broken down by any permutation of portfolio, department and office, or by individual client, instantly on their PCs.
“Star Practice Dashboard is a really useful tool that helps us to manage our practice effectively, as well as monitor resources and give us the capability for checking the progress of client engagements. Clients, contacts, fee analysis, client exposure, efficiency and profitability, and much more, can all be retrieved and displayed instantly,” David Mellor says.
There’s also the added benefit of a ‘single click’ export to Excel for further analysis. In addition, the Star Practice Dashboard integrates with document management to locate and retrieve client-related documents, as well as generating and auto-filing letters and emails.
