When I told Star that I was setting up my own Payroll bureau, they went above and beyond to help me. I have used all sorts of payroll systems in my time such as bespoke mainframe and off the shelf packages. Using Star is the best business decision I could have made as the package is very user friendly, is flexible so if a mistake is made it is easily rectified. There is always a friendly voice at the end of the phone when things don’t work as they should and they are always quick to help.

We recently changed to Star having used a competitor product for a number of years. Our need for support, especially at the year-end black hole, dropped to virtually nil. Joy has replaced all the stress we had experienced previously. Excellent value for money, easy to use and with superb support staff, if you need them!

We have used Star to process over 250 client payrolls for over 3 years now. The bureau team like the functionality of the system and I like the big system service at a small/medium system cost. Pound for pound the best payroll software I have used.

This enables us to use our time efficiently and together with the continued improvements to reporting, running and P45/P46 submission savings are being made all the time.

Reduced time in payroll processing, produces excellent reports and we now have easy to use payslips. The commercial reality is that after just 2 months we saw an improvement in profits and a much more motivated team of people using software they are confident with. Clients like the modern look of the payslips and reports with the additional bonus of them having their reports emailed rather than posted. So money saved there too. We can now market the bureau to a much wider section of companies through using Star Payroll Professional and developing the relationships we have with our existing clients.

Their approach throughout implementation was professional yet friendly and they provide us with an excellent support service. We would recommend them for your payroll needs without hesitation.

We have used Star Payroll Professional for some years and I have to say it is absolutely great in every respect.

The product is easy to use and has all the flexibility you need as a bureau processor to cater for all situations and particular client requirements. Support is by phone or e-mail (as you wish) and is quick and helpful - easily the best I have come across in any software.

Virtually everything is user definable (if you wish to alter any of the standard stuff that is there) such as descriptions of umpteen pay components whether they are additions or deductions and whether pre or post tax items etc. The reporting is also fully flexible - there is a massive amount of standard reports you can produce which will suit most clients but you have the option to produce totally tailor made reports to suit the client's wishes.

It controls and does all the statutory stuff very easily (SSP, SMP, SPP [and the many other types], tax credits, student loans, attachment orders). Internet filing all catered for. No question – it’s brill.

We have used this package since April 1998 and find it very user friendly with many features included that are absent in more expensive packages. We successfully filed approx. 140 clients’ returns by Internet this year with no problems. Some problems that we had in the previous year were caused by Inland Revenue, not Star.

The support we have had is excellent, and feedback that Star receives from users in respect of enhancements is taken seriously resulting in the package being constantly improved.

The fact that Star has been supplying accountants for such a long period of time has given them a sound insight into the needs of firms like ours.
