Shure Distribution UK
Through its US parent company, Shure Distribution UK’s association with pro audio equipment pre-dates the first talking movies, going back to 1925 – two years before Al Jolson, starring in The Jazz Singer, stunned a cinema audience with the words “Wait a minute, wait a minute. You ain’t heard nothing yet.”
Talkies – and the resulting need for audio recording, mixing units and powerful theatre sound systems –had arrived.
Shure Incorporated started life as a radio parts wholesaler and went on to make its name through development of a series of microphones, then phonograph cartridges, and in 1952, demonstration of the first wireless microphone system for performers – the imaginatively named Vagabond.
