When Stewart Clark joined radio communications specialist, Key Radio Systems, as Operations Manager, one of the first tasks he took on was to look for a new IT solution.

“The existing package lacked the functionality and features I would expect to find in an effective finance and business management system,” he recalls. “For example, although the stock recording system was fairly accurate, there was a problem with putting a value on works orders, to the extent that it was virtually impossible to arrive at a reliable tally of stock and work in progress. There wasn’t even a drill-down facility to help track down the discrepancies – and there weren’t any clues in the accompanying system documentation. It was all very frustrating!”

Yet despite the IT shortcomings, Key Radio Systems has been doing pretty well. Set up in 1986, the company specialises in providing communications radio solutions for utility companies, government agencies, local authorities, the emergency services and enterprises of any size requiring high-quality missioncritical communications.
